Mini Crocheted Magic Set by SadDaysCrochet Mini Crocheted Magic Set by SadDaysCrochet
So I just submitted a non-crochet magic rabbit:
But I also made a crocheted version in miniature! Because a couple of years ago I made a miniature Brian. And as I took so long to make the magic rabbit, I thought I should include some extra presents. So I made a miniature magic rabbit for miniature Brian. And then I made a miniature magic hat and a miniature waistcoat, so that miniature Brian could become the Great Zin-Teeny.
Here's miniature Brian:

...I also included a letter to Tiny Brian written in tiny handwriting... Because I am strange and dorky and have too much time on my hands...

Ooh, and while I'm posting (way too many) thumbnails, here are both bunnies together!

Well this particular top hat is about three inches tall, so I don't think it would fit your son even if there was a pattern... ^^; I'm afraid I don't have a full size pattern either. It's not a terribly difficult shape to make in crochet though- just a large flat circle, then a tube (a tube that gets gently smaller towards the bottom if you want it mad-hatter style) and then a flat ring. If you're a beginner with crochet, I'd recommend making each piece separately and sewing them together using the same yarn and a big yarn needle. This will help keep defined corners and not funny slopes. I hope this helps! =D
