I have been working hard for weeks but won't be finished for a few more, so I am posting some spoilers! Which is to say, you all either already know how to do this or don't care, but hey- look how pretty my diagrams are!
I'm working on my first pattern, which means I have had to make everything from scratch, including stitch tutorials. I will be including stitch tutorials for every stitch used in each pattern! So that even complete beginners will be able to make them. And then I will be posting a stitch reference database on my website for everyone to access for free whenever they want! (Yes- that url at the bottom is for real! It will have a pretty front page hopefully sometime this afternoon, but until then it takes you to a filler Tumblr page.)
But this is all very time consuming. So enjoy this free tutorial, give me feedback, and get excited for some fucking amazing patterns! (The first one's for a sweater, it will be free. The second one will be for a dwarven beard helm! It will cost $10.)
That is so good to hear! Illustrator makes it easier with custom brushes (in this case that look like yarn), but oh my goodness it is a lot of work, so I am glad it is understandable! I've been worried that it might not be as obvious as I think, but I feel reassured now. Which is good, because I have now done chain, single crochet, slip stitch, and treble crochet! I am going to be having dreams about crochet stitches. Actually I have already started having them. ... I have lost my mind.
It's cool. I remember when I first learned to crochet, when I closed my eyes I just saw stitches being crocheted. It was very odd because there was no hand just a hook crocheting away on it's own. You haven't lost your mind 0u0
