Dwarven Helm by SadDaysCrochet Dwarven Helm by SadDaysCrochet
This is a present for my brother, because he is the best brother. I wanted to finish it in time for the opening of The Hobbit, but alas I was too slow.

This was hugely inspired by the work of :icondrgibbs:, and if you like this at all you should check out her gallery.

The helm I based directly on the helm that Gimli wears in the Lord of the Rings movies, the beard was my own design with massive creative input from my brother.

That's me wearing it- I'd get him to wear it, but he is far away.

Helm has a lovely fleece interior and beard attaches and detaches with large snaps. The rest is mithril. ;)

Edit:
Holy wow! This has exploded across the internet. So in the spirit of shameless self-promotion, check me out on other social media!

Please allow me to buy the pattern, or please make one and sell it to me . Your brother is really lucky. What an amazing gift.

This. This is the best beard-toque ever.

Though it looks like it isn't easy on yarn supplies. How many balls of yarn did you use just for the beard?
