Amazon River Dolphin! This highly endangered dolphin lives in fresh water and looks kinda creepy. Seriously- that lump on its head is a thing they have. Also some of them are pink! Like this. Ooh, and they can rotate their heads 180 degrees!
So I guess I got a little too into this November Challenge thing for
. I wasn't sure if I wanted to make this or the tapir, but I decided on the tapir (
). Then I had a few hours to kill and wanted to try out my new crochet utility sleeve (
), so I made this too.
I recently discovered thumbnails, as maybe you can tell- am I going overboard?
The eyes are beads, which is strange for me but worked well. There's a little needle-sculpting to get the head bump and the back fin right. All one piece! Had fun working out how to make fins.
This piece will also be a prize for some future contest in
! Because enthusiasm for crocheting obscure animals is worth more to me than the money I could sell this for.
